Happy Birthday Dino

Happy birthday Dino,

a mere two days after my own decidedly low-key celebration. But when you get to our age it's better to be low key about these things, I find.

Well, thank you all, I'm truly chuffed!

This out-pouring of birthday felicitations can only be surpassed by the pouring-out (and consumption!) of industrial quantities of liquid refreshment, something that, for the pleasurable purpose of extending the celebration of the arrival of mon self to this jumpin' green sphere via the dear (and long departed) Mother Martini, I shall be looking forward to over the next few days...

I'm glad to say that I'm now at an age where the parents of young ladies consider me to be a 'safe, reliable and responsible adult', and allow their delightful daughters to accept my invitations for to pop round to Martini Mansions for tea and biscuits. Little do their guardians know that, instead of Jasmine and jelly, it'll be jacuzzi and gin... (well, maybe some jelly...)

However, I will, of course, be sharing this glorious Gemini period of birth celebrations with Frankie who, although a relative youngster compared to myself, shows no visible sign of ageing. Rumours that he has a picture of someone called Dorian in his attic are yet to be proved... I, on the other hand, am working on my master plan to grow old disgracefully. With any luck, VERY old, and VERY disgracefully....

Ciao,

DINO

Frankie, Dino .... just a quick line or two here to say good luck with your new birthdays. Here's hoping the next 366 days until you get your next upgrade are as swinging' as the last.

Cheers for that Kylos, Sophie et al.

I think you're being over-generous there, Dino. I've got almost enough grey in my hair to rival the silver fox Bugsy ("Nik Silver") Seagull himself. Ageing isn't really something I worry about. My problem is I've always looked this old!

They say Geminis are "creative, intellectual and schizophrenic." I'd hesitate to speak for Dino but in my case, at least, they got the last bit right!

Dear Folks!!!

.... what better way to prolong the life of this celebratory thread than by wishing a very happy 100th birthday to the "long-living" legend that is Bob Hope!!!

This man was - and is - a comedy "God" who has blessed us all with a raft of fine, fine films -from the classic Road movies to Paleface, Son of Paleface and the unforgettable masterpiece The Lemon Drop Kid, (based on Damon Ronyon's fine broadway tales).

Hmm. I do believe I can feel a birthday special "movie thread reloaded" post coming on. Watch that space, people!!!
